• Water temperature: Use cold water (maximum 30°C / 86°F). Heat breaks down spandex elastic threads over time, causing garments to sag.
• Detergent: Use a standard mild liquid detergent or a dedicated sports detergent formulated to break down synthetic body oils. Use slightly less detergent than normal—overusing it leaves a film on synthetic fibers that traps odor-causing bacteria.
• Cycle: Select the Delicate or Gentle cycle to minimize stretching and strain on seam bonding.
• CRITICAL: Never use fabric softeners or bleach. Fabric softeners coat the micro-pores of recycled polyester, destroying its moisture-wicking ability and locking in trapped odors permanently.
